Q: What can I expect from CVC?
Quality repetition. Volleyball is an enriching journey with long-term benefits. Athletics enhance lives by supporting healthy communication skills, confidence, perseverance, and camaraderie.
Q: Who is this program for?
Athletes of all ages and skill level are welcome. CVC seeks mindful individuals and families who share our vision.
Q: What's a collegiate volleyball scholarship?
There are many opportunities beyond high school for dedicated athletes to earn athletic college scholarships. CVC can be your personal liaison. Why try for a scholarship? Tuition is costly - often in excess of $100,000 for 4 years. Receiving a full or partial scholarship reduces that expense.
Q: What's the difference between persistence & pain?
CVC believes in teaching athletes to recognize the difference between persistence and enduring physical pain in sports. Athletic persistence is encouraged. Example: pushing yourself through a challenging practice. This may fatigue and stretch your muscles. However, we never want you to endure physical pain for the sake of performance. If something hurts (sharp, pin-pointed pain, breaking, swelling, popping, bruising, loss of function, constant throbbing), stop the activity that causes pain and notify your coach promptly. Ignoring or down-playing pain/ injury can lead to potentially irreparable long-term damage and missing more volleyball. Good coaches will help you find activities more suitable for your body composition. If your body stops allowing you to be active in one area, you can shine brighter in another area.
Active as a coach since 2003 and professional volleyball player since 2000, my philosophy includes the practice of quality technical repetition and helping others find their voice through athletics. As a volley-borg, I enjoy connecting the next generation with opportunities for collegiate athletic scholarships, pro volley-careers, or simply the chance to play a sport they dig. Pun intended.
